eD-1 - A Data only cable to connect eTrex Camo, Legend, Mariner, Summit, Venture, Vista or eMap, Geko (201, 301), Golflogix GPS models to a PC/Laptop and to upload/download map/navigational data. Also includes all HC eTrex models.

Use with AeroPlanner, EasyGPS, Mapsource, Memory Map, Microsoft Autoroute, Fugawi etc. to manage Waypoints, Routes, Maps and for positional navigation.

NOT suitable for new Garmin Legend or Vista C GPS that have a USB Port only. We recommend Garmin original cables only for these GPS. Others do not have a Radio Interference Filter (RFI) fitted.

Made with the exclusive low profile - this plug allows the eTrex to lay flat. The new e2Plug has 4 GOLD plated contacts and all 4 are wired. The neat DB9 connector includes 9 gold plated pins also. The e2Plug is made from very strong GE LEXAN polycarbonate.

This cable is 6 foot long for direct connection to a PC or Laptop serial port (COM). No fiddly screws to fasten to COM ports - just push in/pull out. Will NOT plug into a USB Port found on many new PCs/Laptops. You will need a USB to COM Port Converter unit in such cases which we can provide (see USBG4). RFI filter unit is fitted to this and all our cables.

This cable contains 4 wires (Garmin and all others have only 3), which enables power to be supplied to a GPS unit when used in conjunction with our power inserter cable systems. The cable is termed PowerReady. We have the bare end (non PC connector) version of this cable that enables hardwiring for cars, m/cycles, boats and aviation.

This cable (and all our other GPS cables) have a detacheable GPS plug which can itself be dismantled. The internal strain relief for fine guage wire is by a long clamp (unlike all others including Garmin) within the GPS plug. Also, all other cable suppliers mould the GPS plug to the cable end - as such it cannot be repaired. This a flexible product that exceeds the original. We stock the spare GPS plugs and pins.

Please check that you have a serial port (9 pin male socket) because many new computers don't. Do not be confused by  the 15 pin female socket for an extension monitor. If a serial port is absent then you will need our GPS to USB cable (eUSB).
